The Philippine entertainment landscape is buzzing with a major development: Legendary Director Johnny Manahan, widely known as Mr. M and revered as the "Star Builder" of Philippine showbiz, has officially joined the ranks of the Kapatid Network by signing a key partnership contract.
The official signing ceremony saw Mr. M ink a deal with MQuest Ventures and its talent management arm, the MQuest Artists Agency (MQAA), on Thursday, November 6, 2025. This move cements his commitment to the MediaQuest Group, which includes TV5 and Cignal TV.
A New Era for the Star Maker
Mr. M's arrival signals a bold and strategic shift for the entire MediaQuest ecosystem. MQuest Ventures is the group's "content creation hub," focusing on film and TV production, live events, and talent management through MQAA. Manahan's wealth of experience—honed over decades of steering the careers of countless Philippine superstars—is expected to be pivotal in developing the next generation of "Kapatid" celebrities.
The contract signing was graced by top executives from the MediaQuest Group, including TV5 Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan, MediaQuest and Cignal TV President and CEO Jane Jimenez-Basas, TV5 President and CEO Guido R. Zaballero, Cignal TV First Vice President Sienna G. Olaso, and MQAA Head Jeff Remigio.
The Role of Mr. M in the Kapatid Network
Mr. M's involvement with the network had been hinted at for some time, particularly with his hands-on role as the director for the TV5 music countdown show, Vibe.
It is anticipated that the celebrated director will play a crucial part in the talent development programs of MQAA. His vision is expected to not only discover and manage new artists but also shape the overall creative direction and content quality across TV5 and the MQuest platforms. This strategic partnership underscores the MediaQuest Group's aggressive push to expand its footprint and influence in the competitive local entertainment industry.
In a brief address after the signing, Mr. M expressed his excitement for the new venture, promising to bring "world-class, in your face stars," a challenge he has historically delivered on.
