Court orders Anjo Yllana to pay ₱3.5 million to TVJ Productions over defamatory Tiktok posts

The legal battle between TVJ Productions, Inc. and comedian-host Anjo Yllana has officially concluded. Branch 279 of the Regional Trial Court of Mandaluyong City ruled in favor of TVJ Productions, Inc. in an injunction and damages lawsuit against Yllana, ordering him to pay ₱3.5 million.

The Background of the Ruling

The decision, dated June 29, 2026, confirmed that several TikTok statements made by Yllana tarnished the reputation of the long-running noontime show Eat Bulaga, its prominent hosts, and TVJ Productions.

Following this evaluation, the court issued a permanent injunction. This legally bars Yllana from publishing, sharing, broadcasting, or uploading similar defamatory statements across TikTok and other digital media platforms.

Understanding the Financial and Legal Damages

The court instructed Yllana to pay a total sum of ₱3.5 million in damages. The judiciary emphasized that this financial penalty covers the verified harm inflicted on TVJ Productions and Eat Bulaga. Furthermore, it serves as a stern public reminder that individuals cannot weaponize social media accounts to compromise the legal rights and reputations of others.
The presiding judge highlighted that while freedom of speech is protected by the Constitution, it does not guarantee an absolute right to defame or capitalize on the commercial goodwill of an established brand, corporate entity, or associated personnel.

TVJ Productions Welcomes the Legal Decision

In an official statement released by TVJ Productions, management expressed deep appreciation for the court's validation:

"We welcomed the Court’s Decision as a definitive vindication of the integrity of Eat Bulaga, its hosts, and its management, and of the decades of trust that generations of viewers have placed in the program."

The production outfit added a definitive warning regarding digital accountability:

"The Court’s Decision stands as a stern warning that social media cannot be used recklessly to destroy the rights of others."

Tech Glitch or Epic Crossover? TV5’s 'Eat Bulaga' Feed Accidentally Airs on Kapamilya Online Live

Credits: @rjaydatingaling on X

Netizens and avid Filipino television viewers were surprised to an unexpected crossover on Monday, June 29, 2026, when a technical mix-up briefly broadcasted TV5’s flagship noontime show, Eat Bulaga!, directly on ABS-CBN’s official Kapamilya Online Live YouTube stream.

The unexpected broadcast incident immediately caught the attention of sharp-eyed netizens online. One viewer on X (formerly Twitter) under the handle @rjaydatingaling shared a photo of their television screen showing the iconic red Eat Bulaga! title card bearing the names of the legendary "Legit Dabarkads" hosts, alongside the distinct ABS-CBN Kapamilya Online Live logo overlay.

What Exactly Happened on the Stream?

The technical anomaly occurred during the live broadcast of the ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube channel. The live stream, titled Kapamilya Online Live | June 29, 2026, suddenly shifted feeds to show a bright promotional teaser shouting "DABARKADS!" over its regular programming sequence.

Rather than just a fleeting commercial clip, the stream continued to pull the live TV5 broadcast feed for several moments. Viewers were greeted by the popular outdoor segment, Sugod Bahay Mga Kapatid, live from the TV5 Media Center.

The stream clearly displayed the on-screen prize ticker pointing out a grand total of "₱60,000 + mga regalo" for a lucky winner, while the Kapamilya Online Live logo sat firmly in the upper right-hand corner. The crossover continued as host Vic Sotto and the rest of the main studio team appeared on the ABS-CBN stream layout, inviting everyone to tune in daily.

Netizens React to the Ultimate Media Crossover

Given the historical rivalry and recent collaborative partnerships between ABS-CBN and TV5, the accidental master-control feed switch triggered instant humor and wave-making discussions across social media platforms. Some fans jokingly dubbed it the "ultimate convergence of Philippine media," while others praised the technicians for giving them two shows for the price of one stream.

While technical glitches happen from time to time behind the scenes of cross-network master feeds, this specific incident will certainly go down as one of the most memorable and amusing live stream interruptions of the year!

Queen of All Media Kris Aquino Makes Surprise Live TV Appearance on ‘Eat Bulaga’, Sparks ‘Kilig’ and Drops Viral Advice for Ryzza Mae Dizon

Credits: TVJ Productions, Inc.

In a stunning turn of events that completely shocked both the studio audience and the Dabarkads watching at home, the "Queen of All Media," Kris Aquino, made an unexpected live appearance on the episode of Eat Bulaga. This milestone marks her highly anticipated return to a live local television studio after stepping away to prioritize medical treatments for her autoimmune conditions in the United States.

The surprise unfolded during the show's broadcast when her youngest son, Bimby Aquino Yap—who has been charming viewers as a guest co-host on the long-running noontime program—announced to the floor that his mother was actually present on-site.

Kris walked out wearing her signature glasses, flashing her iconic smile, and warmly waving to the erupting crowd. The studio atmosphere instantly shifted to a mixture of nostalgia and pure excitement as longtime host Ryzza Mae Dizon rushed over to greet her.

The interaction immediately triggered major kilig waves across the studio and online. Playfully playing into the long-standing fan pairings of Bimby and Ryzza—who famously starred together as child stars in the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival hit My Little Bossings—Kris hilariously teased the young host.

"Mag-bless ka, Ryzza Mae! Mag-kiss ka sa future mother-in-law mo!" Kris quipped into the microphone, prompting roaring laughter and cheers from the Eat Bulaga hosts and the live audience.

Following the sweet and funny embrace, Kris took a more maternal and protective tone as she whispered an empowering piece of wisdom directly to Ryzza. Addressing recent internet negativity and rumors surrounding the young host, Kris told her:

"Nabalitaan ko 'yung nang-aapi sa'yo. Don't mind them, because success is the best revenge."

The powerful quote has quickly gone viral, with netizens praising Kris for her protective maternal instincts, sharp wit, and radiant appearance. Kris also noted how beautiful Ryzza has grown, teasingly adding, "I think dahil may nagpapaganda sa'yo," which kept the playful romance rumors alive.

HOT TOPIC: Kim Chiu's 'Lotus Feet' Comment on Ryzza Mae Dizon Sparks Outrage on Social Media

A recent incident on the popular noontime show "It's Showtime" has ignited a firestorm of criticism across social media platforms, centering on actress and host Kim Chiu's controversial remark directed at former child star Ryzza Mae Dizon. The comment, referring to Dizon as having "Lotus Feet," has drawn widespread condemnation, with many viewers and online personalities, including LM Entertainment, accusing Chiu of insensitivity and bullying.

The controversy erupted during a segment of "It's Showtime" where Kim Chiu allegedly made the "Lotus Feet" comment towards Ryzza Mae Dizon. The term "Lotus Feet" historically refers to the practice of foot-binding in ancient China, a painful and deforming process inflicted upon young girls to achieve small feet, considered a mark of beauty and status. This practice, now widely condemned as a form of bodily mutilation and oppression, makes Chiu's comment particularly jarring and offensive to many.Videos circulating online, including one prominently shared by LM Entertainment, highlight the moment of the alleged remark and the subsequent backlash. LM Entertainment's video, titled "LOTUS FEET pala ah!?!!??? #MICDROP kayo sakin! 🫳🎤," suggests a strong disapproval of the incident, implying that the comment was a significant misstep by Chiu and the show.

Fans of Ryzza Mae Dizon and concerned netizens have quickly rallied to her defense, expressing outrage over what they perceive as a derogatory and body-shaming comment. Many have pointed out the historical context of "Lotus Feet," emphasizing the gravity of using such a term lightly. The incident has sparked a broader discussion on appropriate conduct for public figures, especially on live television, and the impact of their words on younger audiences and individuals.

Social media platforms have been abuzz with discussions, with hashtags related to the controversy trending. Critics are calling for accountability from Kim Chiu and the production team of "It's Showtime," urging them to address the issue and offer a public apology.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the power of words and the responsibility that comes with being a prominent personality in the public eye.

TV5 Leads Primetime Ratings Boost with Coco Martin’s ‘Sigabo’ Amid Netizen Network Wars

The primetime television landscape is officially on fire! Following the highly anticipated launch of Coco Martin’s newest action-drama series, Sigabo, TV5 has recorded a massive spike in its primetime viewership.

TV5 Wins Big in Multi-Network Partnership

According to official data released by AGB Nielsen, the Kapatid network emerged as the biggest winner among all stations airing the multi-network partnership piece. TV5 took a commanding lead over other stations broadcasting the action-drama simultaneously, confirming that viewers are overwhelmingly choosing the network for their nightly dose of high-octane action.

Netizen Wars: "Toxic" Fans Called Out Online

Despite the unifying nature of this multi-network partnership, the premiere has triggered some online tension among overzealous network loyalists. Reports have surfaced of certain "die-hard" fans attempting to discourage viewers from tuning in via TV5, actively urging them to switch to alternative streams or rival channels.

A prime example of this online friction includes comments from netizens explicitly telling viewers to boycott the TV5 stream under the assumption that the network shouldn't benefit from the viewership.

This behavior quickly drew strong criticism from digital content creators and online entertainment pages. In a fierce public response, LM Entertainment slammed these "kupal na netizens," telling them to step back and stop controlling people's viewing habits:

"WAG NYO SILANG PAKIALAMAN PWEDE? HAYAAN NYO MGA TAONG MANOOD KUNG SAAN NILANG CHANNEL o LIVESTREAM GUSTONG MANOOD!!! IISA LANG NAMAN ANG PALABAS NA PINAPANOOD NG MGA TAO..."

As digital platforms and networks continue to collaborate to bring high-quality entertainment to the public, the overriding message from both industry insiders and the general audience is clear: let viewers support their preferred platforms in peace. With Sigabo setting new standards for primetime ratings, the collaborative model is proving to be a massive success for TV5, regardless of the online noise.

As industry rumors suggest that leaders from both networks have been in discussions, fans are questioning if this could lead to major shifts in programming for two of the network's most notable shows.

Much of the current chatter surrounds the TV5 series My Bespren Emman, which features a cast including JM de Guzman and Shaina Magdayao. UPDATE: Mr. M’s return to VIBE and the show's future

The landscape at TV5 has seen significant shifts following recent internal developments, bringing clarity to the status of legendary director Johnny "Mr. M" Manahan and the future of the variety program Vibe.

Network representatives have officially clarified that Mr. M was never removed from the network itself; rather, the confusion centered on a report regarding his directing role on Vibe. The misunderstanding arose from an internal communication—delivered via text message—which caught Mr. M by surprise, as there had been no prior face-to-face meeting or formal negotiation regarding his contract, which reportedly ended on May 31.

This lack of professional courtesy caused a stir, fueled by concerns over "cost-cutting" and the perceived high talent fee associated with his role.

Underlying this friction were internal challenges regarding the integration of talents from Star Worx, the network’s newly launched talent management arm led by Mr. M. Since the introduction of the "Star Worx Block 1" artists in early May 2026, management had required their inclusion on Vibe to provide the necessary exposure for these new stars. However, this mandate reportedly created tension with the show’s existing production team, as some felt the new talents were overshadowing established favorites.

These issues were further exacerbated by reports that Vibe had been operating with a level of autonomy that led to misalignment with the broader strategic goals of TV5 and its parent company, MediaQuest.

In response, top network executives held a meeting to address these operational concerns and restore stability. It has been confirmed that management has officially taken direct control of Vibe to ensure the program aligns with the network’s vision. Consequently, Mr. M has officially returned as the program’s director. As part of this restructuring, the network is overhauling the show to improve ratings and financial performance, which includes changing some of the program’s executive leadership and working toward settling outstanding debts, such as those owed to food suppliers.

Looking forward, TV5 plans to elevate Vibe with a fresh format reminiscent of classic Sunday variety experiences, leveraging Mr. M’s extensive expertise. The network remains steadfast in its mission to champion Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and solidify Vibe as a premier platform for cultivating the next generation of Filipino talent.

A New Chapter for PTV: State Network Eyes Partnerships with Industry Giants TV5, GMA and ABS-CBN

The landscape of Philippine broadcasting is set for an exciting shift. Newly appointed People’s Television Network (PTV) General Manager, Lino Cayetano, has officially announced that the state-run network is exploring strategic partnerships with the country's three largest media organizations: ABS-CBN, GMA Network, and MediaQuest’s TV5.

This move, aimed at revitalizing PTV and expanding its reach, has received the green light from the PTV Board of Directors.

A Vision for Growth and Relevance

In a statement, GM Cayetano emphasized that the decision to collaborate with these industry stalwarts is rooted in a desire to serve Filipinos more effectively. "To serve Filipinos better and remain engaged and relevant in their lives, we need multiple stakeholders at the table," Cayetano stated.

The partnership aims to leverage the expertise, reach, and content-production capabilities of these major networks to:

Enhance PTV’s programming: Combining resources to create more engaging and impactful content.
Expand reach: Utilizing both traditional and digital media platforms to connect with a wider audience.

Fulfill the public mandate:

Strengthening PTV’s role as a network that serves every Filipino, distinguishing it from purely commercial stations.

Strengthening the Future of Public Media

The PTV Board—led by Chairperson Victoria C. Recio, Vice Chairperson Prof. Antonio Contreras, and Board Member Atty. Joji Alonso—has formally adopted a resolution authorizing the new General Manager to pursue these partnerships.
Expressing his gratitude, GM Cayetano noted that the three networks are "held in high esteem and trust by the Filipino people," and their involvement is seen as a crucial step toward securing a vibrant future for the network.

From Little Miss Philippines to Grown-Up Star: Ryzza Mae Dizon Opens Up About Growing Up in the Spotlight

Ryzza Mae Dizon during her guesting in Toni Gonzaga's online talk show "Toni Talks"

For two decades, Ryzza Mae Dizon has been a constant presence in Filipino homes. Since her iconic win as Little Miss Philippines at the tender age of six, the public has watched her grow, work, and thrive on national television. In a recent, heart-to-heart interview on Toni Talks, the now 20-year-old star looked back at her journey—from her humble beginnings to navigating the complex shifts within the industry.

The Audition that Changed Everything

Ryzza Mae candidly recalled the early days when money was tight, and her mother had to borrow funds just to get them to the auditions in Bulacan. Despite being surrounded by other children who looked like "typical princesses," she stood out with her signature wit and energy.

She opened up about the immense pressure she faced as a child star, including moments of doubt during the competition where she was almost replaced by other trainees. "Kinakabahan po ako non kasi ang daming bata na alam niyo po 'yung mga tipikal na maputi, cute, charming. Tapos ako lang talaga 'yung nag-standout doon kasi mukha akong dugyot talaga," she shared, remembering the uncertainty she felt as a child.

Ryzza won Little Miss Philippines 2012 at the age of 6.

Industry Challenges and Standing Up for Her Tenure

The interview took a serious turn as Ryzza Mae discussed the turbulence surrounding the transition of Eat Bulaga. She revealed that during her time under the show's former producer, TAPE Inc., she was frequently sidelined and felt she was at the top of the list of talents they wanted to remove. She recalled the painful experience of being reduced to just one segment and being kept waiting in the dressing room while others worked.

However, she expressed deep gratitude to Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon (TVJ), who fought to keep her on the show despite the pressure to let her go. Ryzza shared how the sudden announcement of the separation of TAPE and Eat Bulaga was a difficult time, but having the support of TVJ and her fellow hosts provided comfort.

Finding Security and Peace

Looking back at the move from GMA-7 to TV5, Ryzza feels a sense of relief and security. She noted that since TVJ took over the management, the environment has become much tighter and more supportive. The fear of being unexpectedly removed has vanished, and the bond between the hosts and the staff has grown significantly stronger.

A Heart of Gold

Beyond the professional hurdles, Ryzza Mae reflected on her role as a breadwinner. Despite the struggles of the industry—including online bashers—she maintained her humility. Her ultimate "plot twist" in life? Being able to buy a house for her family, including the very neighbor who once made her feel small as a child.

"Nabili ko po 'yung bahay ng kapitbahay namin kasi siya 'yung... 'yan ang sinasabi ko sa inyong plot twist. Huwag kayong manghamak ng mga bata dahil balang araw bibili nila 'yung bahay niyo," she declared, highlighting her journey from being belittled to becoming the provider for her family.

Looking Ahead

Now 20, Ryzza Mae is ready to explore new horizons beyond hosting, expressing a dream to eventually try her hand at acting or even culinary arts. While she continues to navigate life in the public eye, she remains the same playful, witty, and grounded person that Filipinos fell in love with years ago.

For the 6-year-old Ryzza Mae who won Little Miss Philippines, her older self has a simple message:

"Masasabi ko lang po na sobrang proud po ako sa kanya na hindi po siya sumuko para sa pangarap niya kasi worth it po lahat talaga ng hindi niya pag-give up."

Embracing the Journey: Manny V. Pangilinan on Finding Wealth in the Simple Things

Credits: Bilyonaryo

In a poignant reminder that even the most powerful leaders are human, business tycoon and TV5 Chairman Emeritus Manny V. Pangilinan (MVP) has opened up about his transformative journey following a recent surgery.

Often associated with the massive infrastructure and digital connectivity that keeps the Philippines running, MVP is now reflecting on a different kind of productivity—one defined by patience, gratitude, and the determination to recover. The business leader has been navigating his recovery with grace, even while temporarily using a wheelchair.

A New Perspective on Wealth

In a heartfelt statement, MVP shared how his perspective on success and "real wealth" has shifted profoundly.

"The luxury cars may remain in the garage for now, but real wealth is with us here in this theater—family, friends, faith, and the determination to stand and walk again," MVP remarked.

For a man who has spent a lifetime building empires, the simplest physical tasks have now become his greatest milestones. He noted that while he once took the act of walking for granted, today, every single step carries profound meaning. "Every small improvement feels like a victory," he added.

Returning to the Grind—Slowly

Despite the challenges of his recovery, the resilient tycoon remains focused on the future. MVP is learning to slow down and find joy in the little things, while simultaneously vowing to make a return to both his work and his love for badminton.

His story serves as a powerful testament to the idea that life often has a way of slowing us down to remind us of what truly matters. As MVP navigates his path back to full health, he is teaching us all that sometimes, the most significant progress isn't measured in revenue or expansion, but in the ability to stand up, move independently, and appreciate the small, everyday blessings.

Star Worx Denies Rumors of Johnny Manahan’s Exit from TV5: "Mr. M is Staying Put"

Credits: TV5 Star Worx

The camp of legendary starmaker Johnny Manahan, fondly known as Mr. M, has strongly debunked circulating blind items claiming he is parting ways with TV5.
According to an official statement texted by a Star Worx representative to PEP Troika, the rumors are completely baseless: “Mr. M is not leaving TV5.”

The Root of the Rumors

The controversy sparked from a series of showbiz blind items hinting that a veteran director and talent builder was bound to be let go by his current network. The rumors suggested that the station could no longer sustain the heavy production expenses required by his creative visions and that even his helmed shows faced imminent cancellation.
Given the recent high-profile launch of TV5’s rebranded talent management division, Star Worx (formerly MediaQuest Artists Agency), netizens quickly deduced that the blind items were pointing toward Mr. M.

Busy with Workshops and New Projects

Far from packing his bags, Mr. M is heavily immersed in training the fresh batch of Block 1 Star Worx artists. He has been spearheading rigorous acting and performance workshops to prepare these rising stars for upcoming TV5 programs.
Recently, several Star Worx talents—including Nico Matugas, Adam Buck, Chan Martin, Keisha Serna, Selina Griffin, and Marthena Jickain—made a successful promotional appearance at the Nanay Nation mall show held at SM City Manila.

Furthermore, young actor Adam Buck is already gearing up for an upcoming film, with some of his fellow management contract-mates securing guest appearances in the show A Secret In Prague.
Heartwarming Reunions and Current TV Lineup

The veteran maker of superstars expressed his joy over crossing paths with former Star Magic artists who now find themselves starring in Kapatid network programs.
Just recently, Mr. M shared a heartwarming moment on set with actress Shaina Magdayao, who was busy taping for TV5's newly debuted primetime series, My Bespren Emman.

Aside from artist management, Mr. M continues to serve as the director of TV5's Sunday music countdown program, Vibe. Addressing rumors regarding the musical show's potential cancellation due to its 0.6% rating last Saturday, May 30, a TV5 executive briefly told, “Hindi pa...” (Not yet), clarifying that the team behind Vibe remains unaware of any axe falling and continues regular production.

Industry Clueless on Rumored TV5, ABS-CBN, and AllTV Collaborations
Beyond the fate of Mr. M's current roster, rumors have also begun swirling regarding an alleged grand collaboration involving TV5 and ABS-CBN.

However, industry insiders close to the situation revealed to PEP Troika that they have absolutely no knowledge of such talks yet, noting that they still intend to clear the matter with network bosses.

Even representatives from AllTV, who were reached out to for a reaction regarding how these rumors might impact their own existing agreements with ABS-CBN, admitted to being completely clueless about the speculative cross-network partnership. For now, production teams and network insiders are still investigating to verify if there is any truth to these whispers.

With an active slate of programs, intensive bootcamp training, and direct backing from TV5 executives, Mr. M remains firmly in the director's chair to build the next generation of Kapatid icons

She brought some of the most popular internet novels to life, building an unforgettable legacy.
Let’s take a look back at some of her most iconic Wattpad adaptations that defined an entire generation of pop culture:

Love Encounters: Starring alongside Bret Jackson and Steven Silva, Ella captured hearts as a relatable provincial beauty caught in an addictive romantic dynamic.

That Girl: Teaming up with internet sensation Ranz Kyle, Ella delivered a sweet, youthful, and highly requested performance that fans still replay to this day.

Beyond the small screen, Ella also conquered the cinemas under Viva Films, most notably starring alongside Julian Trono in the hit romance-comedy film Fangirl, Fanboy, which solidified their massive love team following.

What’s Next for Ella?

With her contract officially renewed, the big question remains: Are we getting a brand-new Wattpad series or a massive movie adaptation soon?

Viva has always been a powerhouse for gripping book-to-screen transitions, and keeping the ultimate leading lady on their roster hints at major projects on the horizon.

Whether she is hitting the dance floor, breaking hearts in a drama, or stepping back into her queenly rom-com roots, one thing is certain—Ella Cruz is ready to reign supreme.
