Ted Failon and DJ Chacha Renew Contracts with TV5’s NBC, Staying a "Kapatid" Until 2028

Veteran broadcast journalist Ted Failon and popular radio personality DJ Chacha are officially staying with the Kapatid network. The Nation Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) recently renewed their contracts, ensuring that their powerhouse tandem will continue informing listeners through 2028.

Fans and loyal listeners—affectionately known as "Ka-True" and "Kapatid"—can continue catching their daily morning routine. Their hit program, "Ted Failon at DJ Chacha sa True FM," airs regularly from Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

A Powerhouse Morning Routine

Broadcast live via 105.9 True FM in Metro Manila, the program also features nationwide radio relays and a visual television simulcast across multiple platforms, including TV5, One PH, and RPTV.

Since its launch in October 2020, the morning show has built a strong reputation for delivering:

Breaking news updates and in-depth analysis

Sharp, relevant commentaries on national issues

Engaging discussions and public service initiatives

With their contracts locked in until 2028, Ted Failon and DJ Chacha are set to continue providing meaningful discourse and trustworthy public service to millions of Filipinos tuning in every morning.

The Evolution of True FM: From Radyo5 to 105.9

The Philippine radio landscape witnessed a significant shift in late 2024 as the well-known news and public affairs brand, formerly associated with Radyo5 92.3 News FM, completed its transition to 105.9 True FM. This strategic move marked a new chapter for the network, solidifying its identity under the True Network banner while continuing its commitment to the "Kapatid" audience.

A New Frequency, The Same Commitment

For over a decade, listeners across Mega Manila tuned into 92.3 FM for their daily dose of news, public service, and talk programming. In March 2023, the station rebranded to 92.3 Radyo5 True FM, introducing the slogan "Dito Tayo sa Totoo!" (Let's be real here!).

However, on November 4, 2024, the network officially signed off from the 92.3 MHz frequency and migrated its operations to 105.9 FM. This rebranding dropped the "Radyo5" moniker, streamlining the identity to simply True FM. Despite the change in frequency and name, the core mission remains unchanged: providing credible news, insightful public affairs, and engaging entertainment from the familiar studios at the TV5 Media Center.

Why the Change?

The transition to 105.9 FM (DWLA) was a calculated move to align the radio network's operations within the broader MediaQuest and TV5 ecosystem. By consolidating its flagship operations on the new frequency, True FM continues to serve as a vital asset of News5, ensuring that its listeners remain connected to the stories that matter most, with the same "Laging TRUE sa’yo, Kapatid" (Always True to you, Kapatid) promise.

Where to Listen

Listeners can continue to catch their favorite programs on 105.9 True FM. The station remains a cornerstone of the True Network, maintaining strong ties with affiliate programming and continuing the tradition of high-quality broadcasting that audiences have come to expect from the team behind News5.
