The Sweet and Bitter Taste of Freedom
The episode opens with the long-awaited news: Mateo’s appeal has been granted. The walls of the prison finally give way as he is released, leaving behind fellow inmates who urge him never to return. However, his newfound liberty is overshadowed by a painful confrontation with Priscilla (Shaina Magdayao), who is actually his former flame Ruth's twin.
In a emotional flashback, Mateo recalls confessing his love to Ruth, only for her to reject him, claiming she has a boyfriend and they are better off as friends. Despite her tears and Mateo's insistence that she is lying about her feelings, the boundary is set.
A New Mission from Above?
Now living under the care of a mysterious Sister, Mateo struggles to adapt to life outside. While he deeply misses his wife and family, he fears his return might bring them more harm than good. His past "life of evil" continues to haunt him, as the Sister reminds him that even if he never killed anyone, he was a "tool of evil" whose hands are still stained with the blood of those affected by his crimes.
The mystery deepens as Mateo desperately searches for a missing bag he had when he was found in the river. The Sister claims no knowledge of it, suggesting he might have buried it to hide its contents.
Danger on the Horizon
Meanwhile, trouble is brewing. A group of masked individuals is planning a heist to retrieve the very bag Mateo is looking for, with strict orders to "get in and out" without leaving witnesses. The episode ends on a high-stakes note as Mateo is told he has a "mission from God" involving his former accomplices at a local hospital.
