Filipina actress and social media star Heaven Peralejo is making waves online, not for a new film role, but for a heartwarming act of service. In collaboration with the Marven Royals (the dedicated fanbase of her loveteam with Marco Gallo), Heaven recently spent a day at a local gas station for her latest advocacy project: "Pasada for a Cause."
The initiative aimed to provide immediate relief to the backbone of Philippine public transport—the jeepney and motorcycle drivers—who face the daily challenge of rising fuel costs.
A Small Act with a Big Impact
Through her official social media channels, Heaven shared that the goal was to support 150 jeepney and motorcycle drivers. Each driver received ₱500 worth of free gasoline, a gesture designed to lighten their financial load for at least one full day of operations.
"Hindi kailangan malaki—basta galing sa puso, umaabot," (It doesn't have to be big—as long as it comes from the heart, it reaches people.) Heaven wrote in her post.
Supporting the "Heroes of the Road"
The photos shared by the actress show her personally interacting with the drivers, holding up a colorful sign that reads "Free Gas for Jeepney Drivers," and even hopping inside the iconic Philippine jeepneys to share a smile with the workers.
For many of these drivers, ₱500 represents a significant portion of their daily take-home pay, which is often depleted by the high price of diesel and gasoline. By covering this cost, Heaven and the Marven Royals allowed these "magiting na drivers" to bring home more of their earnings to their families.
The Power of Fandom: Marven Royals
This event highlights a growing trend in the Philippines where celebrity fan clubs, like the Marven Royals, transition from online support to community-based volunteerism. Heaven expressed her deep gratitude to the group for their unity and for helping bring this "Pasada for a Cause" to life.
